King Pigeon (Day 2 – 30 in Vinyasa)

Welcome to Day 2 of my summertime yoga series Strength to Lengthen. In this session we tackle King Pigeon, another peak posture in yoga. For me this is a huge posture that requires a lot of strength in my legs to support the depth of this backbend. Patience has been my biggest lesson with this posture and learning the attention to detail. Once you get your head wrapped around the bind and you understand what is required for the ‘full expression of the pose’ then it begins to make a lot more sense. For a long time I couldn’t make sense of it… so come on this journey with me!
